The Kaminsky DNS poisoning attack has been quite publicized and we wish to assure our customers and partners that Elfiq’s products are not vulnerable to this issue. No firmware updates are required for all versions and models of the Link Load Balancer product line.
Details of the attack have been leaked this week (Slashdot article) earlier than expected, Wired also has a good article on the topic.

Last week the Elfiq team was at the HITEC 2008 conference, which a technology conference for the hospitality vertical. It was a lot of fun and a great event - and Elfiq is one of the five technology recipients for favorite technology solution of the show!

Processor Magazine has an interesting article discussing lower-cost alternatives to T1 circuits for remote offices with cost impacts. All these link technologies can be used concurrently with an Elfiq unit, and by comining all these elements organizations can add a significant amount of bandwidth while reducing overall costs for telecom links and improving redundancy.
The proliferation of consumer broadband Internet access has led to a resulting abundance of WAN options for SOHOs and branch offices. The monopoly of dedicated T1 circuits has been broken, and most businesses should turn to broadband alternatives—the performance improvement and cost savings can be significant.
